Review of fRáGiL (Part 2)

In this second part of the series about the post-apocalyptic role-playing game fRáGiL and its crowdfunding I will review the supplements that go with the basic manual (to read the first installment you may follow this link: #1).

pOZoAMaRGo (bItTeRWelL) is a 40-page supplement which presents a campaign setting centered in a ruined city where you can develop adventures using the ruleset of fRáGiL or take it as a reference to invent your own setting.

Its contents are divided in the following sections:
  • Gangs: Groups residing nowadays in Pozoamargo.
    • Neo-neonazis: Like neonazis before the EMP and the most important gang in Pozoamargo.
    • Sons of Saint Gabriel: Religious fanatics who don't doubt in destroying the few functional technologies remaining after the EMP (which precisely think it was occasionated by Archangel Saint Gabriel and it was a good thing).
    • Sisters of Seretia: Religious fanatics which seem to follow teachings of Saint Helen, an invalid old woman who performed an incredible miracle during the EMP.
    • Bikers of Gongcur: Gang of itinerant bikers who are dedicated to looting the areas through which they pass, can pose a danger to the inhabitants of Pozoamargo if they decide to settle in the city.

  • Important characters: Pozoamargo VIP characters with detailed game statistics and to be used as characters by players or as antagonists by the referee.
    • Big Daddy: Neo-neonazis leader, he don't allow anybody to doubt his authoruty, so be careful with him.
    • Bordoc: Leader of the Sons of Saint Gabriel sect, he knows how to talk to convince people and make them to join his congregation of anti-technology fanatics.
    • Seretia: Leader of Sisters of Seretia and the only one talking with Saint Helen, it's rumored that in Saint Helen abbey child prostitution was practiced before the EMP but better not to say this to Seretia as she could decapitate you with her Conan-like broadsword.
    • Gongcur: Biker's leader and extremely fat, would it be for the soviet nuclear hed radiation it's rumored he carries in his bus?.
    • Pesadilla: A guy who visits Pozoamargo inhabitants by night brandishing an axe...
    • Mirias: Something like a samurai in this post-EMP era given the moral principles by which he governs himself.
    • Kailar: The impassive assassin to hire if you want to kill someone in Pozoamargo.
    • Derek: Junkman and friend of Kailar, he isn't exactly sane, but who is today?
    • Ashly: A extremely dangerous girl because she has several psionic powers and she is absolutely crazy.
    • Adcius: Arsonist who likes to play too much with explosives.
    • Titanlux: Another madman with psionic powers, beware of removing the bucket of paint from his head...

  • Normal...people?: The more common ihnabitants of Pozoamargo (with detailed gaming statistics):
    • Neonazi: Part of Big Daddy's gang.
    • Crusader: Member of Sons of Saint Gabriel gang trained to combat.
    • Sister: Seretia's adept.
    • Byker: Member of Gongcur's gang.
    • Recoverer: Specialized junkman, it's unknown if recoverers are grouped in a gang.
    • Dog: Mobster that usually wears a dog muzzle, and usually he is as ornery as them.
    • Raven: Mobster who usually wears a mask with dust filters and is skilled with knives.
    • Cannibal: Yes, as it sounds. these individuals usually carry the bones of their victims and group together to hunt.
    • Savage: Individual that has been reduced to the purest animal savagery, sometimes appear in the city you do not know in search of what.
    • Little shit: The ordinary citizen of Pozoamargo.

  • Extinct gangs: Previously mentioned gangs aren't the only ones which has existed in Pozoamargo, let's see some examples.
    • Shadows of Destiny: Anarchists who were defeated and absorbed by Big Daddy's gang.
    • Knowledge Collectors: A group of hippies devoted to recover knowledge of the past (it is said that they had the Encarta and a downloaded copy of Wikipedia), Pesadilla killed them all.
    • Sons of Uriel: They wanted to purge the world with fire (literally), the crusaders of Saint Gabriel finished them.
    • The Acolytes: Similar to the Buddhist monks, they believed they could dominate the psionic powers and they seemed better than most people, but their boss was not very smart since he took the paint bucket from Titanlux's head...
  • Places to visit... or avoid: Places which may be interesting... or not (who knows).
  • Events: Tables to generate adventures and use random events for them.

STEN dice

fRáGiL crowdfunding also gave the chance to get special dice for STEN system (six-sided dice, half of these sides with the game system logo and the other half blank) as you may see in the photo.

As I commented in the first entry of the series when reviewing the game manual if you not have these dice there's also other possibilities (coins, dice with even and odd outcomes, etc.).

Character sheet

Other of the goals of the crowdfunding was a set of character sheets (10 in total).

Because there's no character sheet available for downloading I have decided to create one myself and offer it in the three languages of the blog as you may see below.

In Spanish: Google Drive | 4Shared
In Catalan: Google Drive | 4Shared
In English: Google Drive | 4Shared

The X-Card

Although it wasn't one of the goals of the crowdfunding publisher Yipikayie also included with the shipment a card marked with an X. This card and the mechanics for using it in a gaming session were devised by John Stavropoulos, to know more about it you may read the explanations given by its creator and see the following Youtube video.
