Black Box: La Llamada de los dioses - Session 21

As always remember you may find spoilers, so if you are playing the campaign or think about playing it you probably do not want to read more beyond this point (or perhaps you want, who knows).

This session was characterized by using the mechanism of the retroactive continuity or retcon because facts explained previously were altered to allow the aparition of new playing gharacters in the plot, and more precisely Hassba (the Assassin PC played by Ero, whose previous character turned into an uncontrollable werewolf in the already distant previous session), Alanna Glarthel (the Paladin PC played by Laura, whose previous characters also died in the above session) and a new player, Amaia, who plays Belacqua Daneer (a half-elf magician), retaining Irene her PC Flynn, the cleric and Kris playing ghis time a NPC owner of the inn The Drunken Goblin (a warrior who decided to leave behind her life as an adventurer to settle permanently).

And why all the characters are in The Drunken Goblin? After Flynn (played by Irene) left the caravan of monks in which he was traveling and dissapeared due to a vision of a giant bluish figure pleading his help he managed to reach the inn at night to rest, here the character met another traveler, the half-elf magician Belacqua, and then Hassba and Alanna appeared searching for the young cleric, worried by him dissapearing without a trace (after all, they were friends from their earliest childhood).

Everything could have ended in a simple rebuke but we all know this is a campaign of a medieval and fantasy game, so this couldn't be so easy (thanks above all to the ideas and contents appearing in the fanzine Vieja Escuela)... Because the vast majority of customers weren't what they seemed and the characters soon discovered them to be living dead spit by hell itself, quickly attacking all liveng beings and being heped by a horde os skeletal warriors who stormed the building. And if that was not enough in one of the rooms of the inn's upper floor a certain dark elf (of whom you may know about if you read campaign's plot) was fighting against a Death envoy for the posession of a certain orb...

At the end this three-way fight led to a great combat in which Flynn's expertise casting out living dead was very praised by the group, although they weren't bad at all and fought bravely, ending all with one of the usual tactics of my group of players consisting in setting fire in the building or the room. Nevertheless this didn't avoid the escape of the dark elf, throwing himself into the well next to inn stables with the blast of blue light of the portal at the bottom also surrounding and transporting them to the refuge of evilness where the clerics of Penumbra where plotting their nefarious plans.
