Reseña de The New Death and Others

Hoy os presentaré la reseña de un libro un tanto especial, ya que no os voy a hablar de un manual de un juego de rol o de una novela al uso dentro del género fantástico. No, hoy os hablaré de The New Death, un libro escrito por James Hutchings, un escritor australiano que goza de un sentido del humor sarcástico pero que al mismo tiempo es sumamente divertido y que estoy seguro que al leer su libro no os dejará indiferentes, y puede que incluso os sirva para conseguir ideas para vuestras partidas.

En esta obra Hutchings nos ofrece un conjunto de poemas y de historias cortas en las que muchas veces abunda una fina ironía que nos permite reflexionar sobre la vida misma a través de los giros inesperados en las tramas que presenta (el tono irreverente y surrealista usado en alguno de estos escritos puede recordarnos los guiones de la serie británica The Young Ones, como puede ser el caso de las historias The End, donde nadie es lo que parece, o The Doom That Was Laid Upon Fame, con un final ciertamente divertido).

No, avui us parlaré de The New Death, un llibre escrit per James Hutchings, un escriptor australià que frueix d’un sentit de l’humor sarcàstic però que alhora es prou divertit i que estic segur que al llegir el llibre no us deixarà indiferents, i potser us servirà per aconseguir idees per a les vostres partides.

No, today I will talk about The New Death, a book written by James Hutchings, an Australian writer with a sarcastic but extremely funny humour sense that I’m sure will not leave you indifferent when you will read it, it can also serve you to obtain ideas for your gaming sessions.

With this work Hutchings offers poems and short histories with a fine irony that permits to think about life itself using twists in its plots (irreverent and surrealist tone used in some of these writings can remind us of the scripts of the British series The Young Ones, such as the case of the stories The End, where no one is what it seems, or The Doom That Was Laid Upon Fame, with a certainly funny ending).
