In today’s post I will present you a crowdfunding at Kickstarter I think you may find interesting: Kingdoms of Ink.

In this crowdfunding the creators, Maria and Willie, offer you the opportunity to get the necessary rubber stamp allowing to create in situ all kind of roleplaying maps (they also have an online shop: StimpStamp - Etsy España).

But well, let’s allow them to present themselves:

From digital maps to rubber stamps: How Kingdoms of Ink was born

Kingdoms of Ink - Youtube

Almost having your whole life playing roleplaying games, refeering and creating whole worlds leaves a mark. After decades in front of screens and boards, sometimes an unexpected spark appears changing completely the way of giving life to our universes.

All began in a very improvised and simple way. Due to my wife began to make stamps for our children, we asked ourselves a key question: what if we did stamps of mountains, forests, cities, rivers and other elements to create our physical maps?

We got down to work: we drew icons, digitally retouched them and made our first rubber stamps using a laser cutting machine. What began as a home pastime in Madrid became a marvelous creative vice. Be able to make a map on paper, changing elements on the fly, getting our hands dirty and able to experiment without having to be right next to a screen became infinitely more funny than we expected.

After experimenting at home, some friends encouraged us to take the leap, carry the idea a little further and share it with other roleplaying and worldbuilding enthusiasts.

One thing led to another and, after a lot of effort and attachment, we end up shaping Kingdoms of Ink, a modular stamps system specifically designed to create roleplaying maps.

Currently, the project is already real and active at Kickstarter.

Crowdfunding contents

There are three themed kits to choose from: High Fantasy Kit, Wasteland Kit and 80’s Suburbia Kit.

Every kit offers the following content:

  • 16 themed stamps.
  • An ink pad.
  • A hand-printed bag.
  • A set of two maps ready to be used with the stamps (with instructions to create your own maps and a link to download the files if you want to print more).

You may purchase only a kit, take advantage of a double deal to buy two kits or even purchase all three kits offered.

Examples

But of course, perhaps you may be thinking about how these stamps can be used and what you can achieve with this system. In the video below you can see a practical example and in the images that accompany it the results of applying it with some examples:
