| Covers of itch.io projects |
Let’s see… The last post I wrote in the blog is… the one of Saint George’s Day.
Perhaps it’s about time to show you new things I hope you will find interesting.
I hosted these projects at the itch.io, an open market for independent digital creators at first with videogames creators in mind and later including traditional roleplaying games among many other ludic proposals.
- Guerrer, Bergant & Fetiller
- FIST: 1961
- YEAR 100 MILLION B.C. - Regles gratuïtes i taules aleatòries (edició en català)
- La Huida | La Fugida | The Escape
- Paladín Errante | Paladí Errant | Wandering Paladin
Guerrer, Bergant & Fetiller - Document de Referència de Sistema
Guerrer, Bergant & Fetiller
Language: Catalan.
System Reference Document, translated from the original one from Warrior, Rogue & Mage, created by Michael Wolf.
You will find downloads for the .pdf files (high and low resolution) of the Document, the .txt files with the text of the Document, .csv files for the most important tables and the .pdf file of the character sheet.
This is the most recent project and consists in the Catalan translation of the System Reference Document (SRD) of the roleplaying game Warrior, Rogue & Mage created by Michael Wolf which I originally knew about in the already far era of the Google+ social network.
The new version of the SRD (available in English and German) can be downloaded from Stargazer Games and an online version can be read here. The fact of being available under the CC BY 4.0 license has encouraged me to carry out the Catalan translation and offer it to any person willing to get into the fantasy roleplaying games and who wants to build new projects taking advantage of a license with very few restrictions.
This translation have also taken advantage of some language resources you may find interesting: the Diccionari de jocs de taula i jocs de rol by TERMCAT and the Diccionari de la llengua catalana by the Institut d’Estudis Catalans.
To complement the text of the translation I have used, among other things, the images by Jordan Higgins (available under Public Domain) and Nathaniel Joseph (available under the CC BY 4.0 license) and the Space Grotesk font by Florian Karsten (available under the SIL Open Font License license).
FIST: 1961
FIST: 1961
Language: English.
Suplemment for the game FIST: Ultra Edition by CLAYMORE submitted to the FIST: JAM OPS VI.
Right now it's in development and you may download the .pdf file of the Alpha 02 version.
For a change I show you a long term project to prepare a supplement for the roleplaying game FIST: Ultra Edition by CLAYMORE with information for the game based in the events happening in year 1961.
FIST: Ultra Edition is a game where the characters are mercs with supernatural powers acting during the Cold War in all kind of missions, like stopping scientific experiments ending in a disaster, infiltrating occult compounds, neutralizing eldritch horrors and things like that.
Although it’s not finished yet and there’s a lot of work to be done I submitted it to the FIST: JAM OPS VI, celebrating six years of the game and asking for works with the NO FUNNY BUSINESS theme and taking real life events as a base… And if you think a little about it, you will clearly see that year 1961 is full of very relevant and complicated historic events: John Fitzgerald Kennedy becoming president of the United States, Yuri Gagarin as the first human being reaching Earth orbit, the attempted invasion of Cuba at Bay of Pigs, the Berlin Wall is built at mid-August…
Right now the supplement already have a calendar and a list of historical events for January to April months and an article about Bay of Pigs and I will expand it with more information, including new rules for the game. In this it could be very interesting to use the ruleset of LANDWAR with FIST: Ultra Edition to get real data of the vehicles of the era and adapt them to the game.
YEAR 100 MILLION B.C. - Regles gratuïtes i taules aleatòries (edició en català)
YEAR 100 MILLION B.C. - Regles gratuïtes (edició en català)
Language: Catalan.
Catalan translation of the original rules of the game YEAR 100 MILLION B.C. written by Golden Achiever.
As a download you will find the .pdf file with the rules of the game.
This project consists in the Catalan translation of the free rules of YEAR 100 MILLION B.C. written by Golden Achiever taking advantage of the CC BY 4.0 license. It’s a very funny and inaccurate game about prehistorical human beings which will allow you to to have a good time taking into account that language has been barely invented (players will have to use three-word sentences to communicate), fire burns and they can’t control it yet (nothing of rubbing two sticks and see if they are lucky) and it’s full of beasts with very big sharp fangs so they will probably have to run, run a lot and very fast.
The author was fine with a Catalan translation and I submitted it to the Cave Jam!.
YEAR 100 MILLION B.C. - Taules aleatòries (edició en català)
Language: Catalan.
Catalan translation of the random tables for the game YEAR 100 MILLION B.C. created by 3DGoblinDev, Antonio Buch, Ballisong, Cuchi, Daryl Donjon, Dielgos, Kórzhin iz Adbán, Lowden, Naminanu, Roque Romero and Zanchito.
As a dwonload you will find the .pdf file with the tables.
YEAR 100 MILLION B.C. has been well received by fans of indie roleplaying games and had favoured the coming of supplements like these tables to add more contents to the game created by Roque Romero and other people.
My translation also was part of the Cave Jam!.
La Huida | La Fugida | The Escape
La Huida | La Fugida | The Escape
Language: Catalan | Spanish | English.
Evolved version of the action game I submitted in 2017 to the contest Un juego de rol en 200 palabras and that was part of the games of the Amor per Valencia / Love for Valencia initiative.
As a download you will find the .pdf files of the game in Catalan, Spanish and English.
This game isn’t really new, because in it’s original form it was a game of only 200 words I submitted to the Un Juego de Rol en 200 palabras contest.
The rules (available under the CC BY 4.0 license) pretend to simulate the action cinema films where protagonists must escape to protect their lifes. To create the stats of the characters uses poker cards (or 1d10 rolls) for each stat and to decide the plot of the adventure uses random tables to decide things like the person and/or object to protect and the creation of scenes (where the action takes place, at which moment of the day, meteorology, characters appearing, resource levels and random events).
The game was one of the 775 entries in the Solidaridad con Valencia - Solidarity with Valencia- Solidaritat amb València initiative of year 2024 to help the victims Valencia floods raising more than €25,000.
Paladín Errante | Paladí Errant | Wandering Paladin
Paladín Errante | Paladí Errant | Wandering Paladin
Language: Catalan | Spanish | English.
Roleplaying game in one playing card I submitted to the Rol a la Carta jam by ¡Rol o Barbarie! and part of the games of the Amor per Valencia / Love for Valencia initiative.
As a download you will find the .pdf files of the game in Catalan, Spanish and English.
This game was the first one I uploaded to itch.io to see the workings of the platform and as a little challenge to myself, because I also submitted it to the Rol a la Carta jam in 2024, which proposed to participate with a roleplaying game in a poker card (63.5mm x 88.8mm) using both sides.
To prepare the game I used the templates given by the organizers as well as the icons by Game-icons.net and I decided ti offer them under the CC BY 4.0 license.
This game was also part of the Solidaridad con Valencia - Solidarity with Valencia- Solidaritat amb València initiative.
Other projects (future post)
That’s all for the moment.
In a future post I will write about other developments.
