Birth of the FOAC

Last April 28th I had the chance to assist as a guest to the constituent assembly of the Federació d’Oci Alternatiu de Catalunya (FOAC) that took place at l' Espai Jove La Fontana of Barcelona

FOAC, born with the help of the Consell Nacional de la Joventut de Catalunya, has the praiseworthy goal of spreading our hobbies among youth and society at large. To do so they want to make known entities engaged in board games, strategy games, role-playing games and simulation games and related art forms (such as, for example, science-fiction movies, among many others).

FOAC also aims to put in contact associations and organizations in the field and also help fans wishing to start their own association facilitating steps and contact with the administration.

Founding associations of the FOAC are the following ones:

• Associació Juvenil de Jugadors de Rol i Estratègia de Tarragona
• Associació de Jugadors i Jugadores de Rol de Reus
• Associació Lúdica El Templo y la Torre
• Associació La Cofradía
• Associació Juvenil de Rol Tramuntana – Lleida

I can only wish them luck and to succeed in their missions.
